Abstract

Protected plant conservation is a crucial effort to preserve and maintain the diversity of plant species on earth. Many plant species are currently endangered or threatened due to various human activities, including deforestation, land use change, and illegal harvesting. The conservation of protected plants involves both in situ and ex situ conservation methods. In situ conservation methods include the protection of plant habitats and the restoration of degraded ecosystems, while ex situ conservation, such as Kebun Raya Botanical Garden, involves the maintenance of plant genetic resources in gene banks and botanical gardens. Effective conservation strategies require collaboration among governments, NGOs, local communities, and stakeholders to ensure the sustainable use and management of protected plant species. The success of protected plant conservation efforts will not only benefit the survival of plant species but also contribute to the overall health and well-being of our planet.
