Abstract

vii ABSTRACK The title of this research is The Role Of Dinas Kebersihan dan Lingkungan Hidup In The Region Melawi District. Waste management in Melawi Regency is a task and responsibility mandated by the Hygiene and Environment Service of Melawi Regency. The waste management process should be based on statutory regulations. The purpose of this research is to find out the role of the Sanitation and Environment Service in waste management in Melawi Regency and to find out the law enforcement efforts by the Sanitation and Environment Service in waste management in Melawi Regency. This writing uses empirical writing methods that focus on social phenomena that occur. The conclusion of this study is that the waste management carried out by the Hygiene and Environment Office of Melawi Regency is not optimal because waste processing is still limited to burning, and there is no waste control process. Law enforcement carried out by the Hygiene and Environment Office of Melawi Regency is limited to preventive enforcement processes because there have been no real cases that have occurred as a form of repressive enforcement.
