Abstract

In implementing the mining business permit policy in accordance with the Mineral and Coal Mining Law in West Kutai Regency, the implementation of the mining business permit policy as an effort to prevent environmental pollution has gone well. As in the technical requirements and environmental requirements have not been implemented. Implementation of administrative requirements which include: application letter, business entity profile, work action of a business entity engaged in a field that has been approved by the competent authority, tax identification number, composition of directors and register of shareholders, certificate of domicile, and financial requirements which include: final year financial statements that have been audited by a public accountant, proof of payment of fixed contributions for the last 3 years. As for the few obstacles encountered in carrying out efforts to control environmental damage due to coal mining in West Kutai, namely the limited number of experts from the Environmental Service and bases in carrying out supervision of administrative, technical, financial requirements and especially environmental requirements on environmental damage issues in West Kutai Regency, this then slowed down the performance of related institutions to carry out supervision.
