Abstract

The background of this research is to examines the management of plastic derived from Hindu religious ceremonies at Uluwatu Temple in Bali and its role in addressing pollution concerns. The research aims to examine the strategies employed for handling plastic waste stemming from Hindu religious ceremony at Uluwatu Temple and to evaluate their efficacy in pollution contol. The formulation of the problem taken in this study is how the legal aspect of the plastic waste management in Uluwatu Temple according to environment pollution control and what is the obstacle that is faced in the plastic waste management. The legal research that is used is empirical research or field research that focused in the field data as the primary data resource. This study concludes that the substantial contribution of religious ceremonies to plastic waste accumulation, driven by the widespread utilization of disposable plastic items despite their environmental repercussions and the plastic waste management is not optimal because there are some obstacle such as lack of public awareness regarding the dangers of plastic waste and its environmental impact. To address these issues, education is necessary to raise community awareness and to collaborate with religious organizations or community elements to foster this awareness.
