Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on various sectors, one of the most significant impacts is the weakening of the economy. The impact of the weakening economy on companies has greatly affected company operations, so that several companies were forced to lay off their workers due to the Covid-19 pandemic which caused an economic downturn.The case of termination of employment was the topic of this writing for the reason that the researcher wanted to study legal protection and appropriate compensation in efforts to resolve cases of termination of employment that occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic.The aim of this research is to examine and analyze the appropriate legal basis for completing termination of employment by providing sanctions in accordance with positive law. The data used was taken from court decisions according to cases that occurred during the Covid pandemic. From the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that providing compensation to workers who experience cases of termination of employment can be adjusted to positive law, namely labor legislation.
