Abstract
Waste can become a serious problem which is one of the problems in environmental law as a result of the development and lifestyle of society which is constantly evolving. Seeing this, problems related to waste can have a negative impact on life, which can become a disaster, such as flooding due to waste accumulating in gutters or rivers so that it can clog waterways and there will be an increase in the production of waste produced by the community. In 2022 the city of Yogyakarta will produce an average of 270 tons of waste per day. The reason for the large amount of waste in the city of Yogyakarta is due to the accumulation of waste in various places. Waste production is increasing, both industrial waste and household waste. Therefore, there is a need for law enforcement as regulated in Yogyakarta City Regional Regulation (PERDA) Number 10 of 2012 concerning Waste Management as an effort to overcome pollution. The research method used is an empirical legal research method, which is based on existing social facts in the form of direct research. The results of this research are that law enforcement of Yogyakarta City Regional Regulation (PERDA) Number 10 of 2012 is carried out by Satpol PP and the Yogyakarta City Environmental Service. Law enforcement is carried out administratively and criminally. Law enforcement of Yogyakarta City Regional Regulation (PERDA) Number 10 of 2012 has not been running optimally because there are still violations and obstacles.
