Abstract

n this paper, the researcher discusses the role of the land office in resolving multiple land title certificates for land in Sleman Regency to resolve title certificates with double ownership deeds (overlapping) to ensure legal certainty. Apart from that, it discusses the obstacles and solutions faced by the Sleman Regency Land Office regarding land certificates with dual ownership rights to the land. The aim of this research is to find out the role of the land office as well as the obstacles and solutions of the Sleman Regency Land Office in dealing with cases of double land title certificates for land in Sleman Regency so that legal certainty can be guaranteed. In this research, researchers used empirical data obtained through the use of interviews. As a result, the role of the Land Office in Sleman Regency in this case is that Plotting has been carried out which can be an effort to reduce the occurrence of duplicate land certificates and try to resolve cases that occur by using several resolution paths, namely searching for data that will reach a mediation process where if there is an agreement between the two The parties to the dispute will return it to each party regarding their agreement, but if both parties are equally adamant then it can be submitted to litigation. Then further action will be taken in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning / Head of BPN Number 21 of 2020 concerning Handling and Settlement of Land Cases.
