Abstract

ABSTRACT The issue of human trafficking is increasingly widespread in Indonesia with various modus operandi. The crime of child trafficking is a crime that takes away human rights because the form of this act is sexual exploitation. Children are the nation's next generation who will continue their leadership, for this reason protection for children must be fulfilled. For this reason, efforts are needed from the police to tackle the crime of child trafficking, especially in the city of Yogyakarta. This research uses empirical methods. The results of the research show that the Yogyakarta Police's strategy in dealing with criminal acts is through a non-penal approach, namely early detection, counseling and coaching, collaboration with school agencies. Then the penal approach is investigation and investigation.
