Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a wealth of biological and non-biological natural resources, especially animal species. Natural resources need to be protected and conserved. However, this does not correspond to the facts because there are many incidents of crimes committed by humans against natural resources, especially animals, namely the trade in protected wild animals. Protected wild animals mean that the animals are indicated as endangered animals. Crimes against animals must be stopped immediately by controlling them because they can cause damage to nature reserves and nature conservation areas. Wildlife trade will have a negative impact on the ecosystem. The government through the Yogyakarta BKSDA has made efforts to prevent, overcome and restore as a form of controlling the trade in protected wild animals in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
