Abstract

The legal writing/minithesis is entitled Coordination Amongst Regional Institution to Prevent the Environmental Pollution in Yogyakarta Municipality. The background of the research was pollution has been numerously happened in big cities of Indonesia, one of them was in Yogyakarta Municipality. The higher of inhabitant incline causes the higher economical activity followed by the development of which contains the risk elements of pollution and destruction to environment. From the problem background aforementioned above, it was gained problem formulation: 1) How is the coordination amongst regional institution to prevent the environmental pollution in Yogyakarta Municipality?; 2) What are the barriers in coordination amongst regional institutions to prevent environment pollution in Yogyakarta Municipality. The purpose of research was to comprehend the coordination amongst regional institutions to prevent the environmental pollution in Yogyakarta Municipality. The research was normative legal research, i.e. a research focused on the norms (law in the book) and required secondary data (legal source) as primary data. The data source in the research was gained from primary legal sources by shapes of regulations, whereas secondary legal source was gained from literatures and provide explanation concerning on the primary legal source. From the result of research, it concludes that: 1) the Law Number 32 of 2009 on Protection and Management of Environment actually has ruled on the task and authority of Government and Regional Government in coordinating and conducting the pollution control in Regency/City; 2) Coordination amongst Regional Institution to prevent pollution in Yogyakarta Municipality can be directly conducted by Environment Institution which refers to the Regulation of Municipal Head Number 100 of 2009 on Coordination Patterns of Vertical Institution of Regional Apparatus in Yogyakarta Municipality Government; 3) Coordination in preventing the environment pollution in Yogyakarta Municipality can give good impact to the society, in particularly in Yogyakarta Municipality, in order to create harmonic life between the nature and humans.
