Abstract

The land procurement mechanism for development in the public interest is an activity to obtain land by providing compensation to those entitled to it properly and fairly to the land, buildings, plants and objects on it. This research aims to find out the mechanism for land acquisition for development in the public interest based on Law Number 12 of 2012 regarding the construction of the Southern Cross Road in Bantul Regency, as well as to find out the obstacles in carrying out land acquisition. This research uses a type of empirical legal research in the form of field research by conducting interviews. The results of this research state that the mechanism applied in land procurement for development in the public interest for the construction of the Southern Cross Road in Bantul Regency in Tirtohargo Village is in accordance with Law Number 2 of 2012 concerning Land Acquisition for Development in the Public Interest, in The implementation of land acquisition for the construction of the Southern Cross Road in Bantul Regency did not experience any problems/obstacles.
