Abstract

The regulation of the Deposit Insurance Corporation has existed since 2004 with the issuance of Law Number 24 of 2004 on Deposit Insurance Corporation. The Deposit Insurance Corporation at that time only guaranteed the deposits of depositors placed in banks, but nowadays people do not only store funds in banks. Now there are insurance institutions that are also in great demand by the public to use their services, but at that time public confidence decreased because many insurance institutions defaulted. After the existence of Law No. 4 of 2023 concerning Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector, the Deposit Insurance Corporation has additional duties and authorities, namely also guaranteeing funds placed in insurance companies and sharia insurance. This study aims to look at changes to the duties and authority of the Deposit Insurance Corporation after the enactment of Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector. The type of legal research used in this research is normative legal research. Normative legal research, namely legal research conducted by examining library materials or secondary data. The results of this study are that the duties and authority of the Deposit Insurance Corporation have changed. The change is that, compared to the previous law, the duties and authority of the Deposit Insurance Corporation have increased.
