Abstract

Livestock is any human activity related to raising animals for the purpose of meeting various needs. Pig farming is a popular choice in Jagapati Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency. Pig farming produces waste comprising leftover feed, drinking water, urine, feces, and wastewater from cleaning and bathing pigs. Poor disposal of pig waste poses potential environmental pollution. The aim of this study is to determine how environmental pollution due to pig farming waste is controlled in Jagapati Village, as well as to identify associated challenges and solutions. Based on empirical legal research conducted directly with respondents to gather primary data supplemented by secondary data, it was found that various efforts have been made by farmers, the village government, and the district government to control environmental pollution caused by pig farming waste in Jagapati Village. Despite these efforts, the district government should play a more active role in conducting comprehensive data collection of pig farmers in Jagapati Village, particularly in documenting the types and scales of livestock operations that require Registration Certificates, Letters of Registration, and Livestock Business Licenses as stipulated in Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 14 of 2020 concerning Registration and Licensing of Livestock Businesses.
