Abstract

This paper contains the implementing diversion efforts in the Yogyakarta resort police. This writing is motivated by the large number of criminal acts committed by children and to overcome the negative impact of children as perpetrators of criminal acts who enter correctional institutions. This paper raises two issues, namely whether the diversion efforts carried out in the Yogyakarta resort area have been effective? and what are the obstacles in implementing diversion efforts at the Yogyakarta Police?This paper was conducted using empirical legal research, and used primary data sources with direct interviews with investigators at the Yogyakarta Police, and used secondary data, namely applicable laws and regulations related to diversion. The analytical method used in this research is qualitative research, thinking by drawing general conclusions and producing specific conclusions. The results of the research are that the diversion efforts carried out in the Yogyakarta resort police have not been fully effective, this is due to a lack of understanding regarding diversion on the part of the victims, a lack of personnel and professionalism of law enforcement officers who deal with diversion, as well as a lack of infrastructure that supports the implementation of diversion efforts.
