Abstract

The increasing human population and growing business activities cause the volume of waste to increase every day, every month, every year. Waste itself can be categorized into household waste and non-household waste, waste is different from waste. Sleman Regency is currently experiencing a waste emergency due to the closure of the Piyungan TPST, making residents anxious and confused to manage their waste. The purpose of this study is to find out alternative waste management in Sleman Regency after the closure of the Piyungan TPST, the Piyungan TPST has been closed because the waste in the Piyungan TPST itself has exceeded the capacity in its storage. The type of research used in this study is an empirical method which is research conducted by focusing on social facts. It can be concluded that Alternative Waste Management in Sleman Regency after the closure of the Piyungan TPST, the construction of the TPST in be.
