Abstract

The term “education” is always closely related to the term “education cost”, but the high cost of education is often not matched by an adequate increase in public salaries. The government and universities are trying to solve the problem by presenting scholarship shemes and also student loans through LPBBTI, but both solutions are unable to solve the problem. Therefore, research is needed on the existence of LPBBTI in universities. This legal research aims to find whether students loan through LPBBTI is the right way to fulfill student’s rights according to the Undang-undang No. 12/2012 or not. This legal research is conducted through empirical legal research methodology which focuses on the firsthand observations dan data collected in natural settings. The result of this legal research is students loan through LPBBTI is not loan that meant by the regulation.
