Abstract

Sand mining activities in Kemalang District, Klaten Regency, area activities that have a direct impact on environmental conditions, such as land damage, water pollution, and ecosystem disturbances. This study uses an empirical research method, with a sociological legal approach. Data were obtained through interviews with officials of the environmental service, field observations, and documentation, and supported by literature studies. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively to obtain a complete picture of the implementation of environmental supervision. Environmental monitoring is very important for the environmental impact of mining. The problem with thsi research is that the mining activites carried out by CV.Berkah Alam are not yet optimal in carrying out enviromental monitoring. Legal problem is how does the enviromental services supervise the environmental impacts of sand mining activites. Research data was collected through interviews. Based on the data anaylsis, action to resolve problems such as damaged roads and dust have not yet been implemented. In this case, Enviromental service supervision of this problem has not yet found a bright spot. The author’s suggestion is that the enivromental agency needs to conduct active and periodic supervision of mining business actors and the environmental service needs to increase human resource so that supervision is more effective.
