Abstract

Violence against women and children that occurs in the city of Yogyakarta will become a big problem if it is not immediately addressed properly and correctly. This legal research aims to find out and analyze the obstacles in tackling violence against women and children carried out by the Yogyakarta City Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection and Population Control and Family Planning and to find out the policies provided in tackling violence against women and children in Yogyakarta City. The research method used in this legal writing is empirical legal research, this means that this legal writing focuses on phenomena based on social facts that exist in society. This research is supported by literature study and interviews with sources. The main obstacles in overcoming violence against women and children in the city of Yogyakarta are obstacles regarding the implementation budget that is not carried out thoroughly and activists who do not share their knowledge and experience with colleagues in the regions so that they both understand about overcoming violence against women and children in the city of Yogyakarta. the policies provided to overcome existing obstacles are by strengthening cross-sectors and networks so that officers who handle violence against women and children can understand the flow of problems and can be handled properly and do not have an impact on the wider community and evaluate previous programs that discuss whether or not the socialization is effective.
