Abstract

The title of this thesis is Regional Police Department of Yogyakarta to overcome against human trafficking crime. Then the aims of this thesis are: to know how the police effort to overcome human trafficking in Yogyakarta and to know the police’s constraints to overcome human trafficking crime in Yogyakarta. And the results of this research are: the police has two ways to effort the human trafficking, namely: a preventive way by means of socialization, lectures, counseling is done to our campuses, schools, villages and schools. The second way is the processing human trafficking crime using the legal basis the draft Criminal Code (Criminal Code), Act No. 21 Year 2007 on Combating the Crime of Trafficking in Persons, Act No. 23 year 2002 on child Protection if the victims are children, and Law No. 39 year 2004 concerning the Protection of Migrant Workers in Foreign Countries. And constraints of the police to overcome human trafficking are difficulty obtaining police effort reports, the public still does not understand the importance of prosecution of human trafficking, religious leaders and community leaders are less concerned about the perpetrators of human trafficking to be reported and dealt with by the law, the officer-Government officials such as district head, headman, and Hamlet who abused his power by making false age certificate.
