Abstract

Prisoners in the public prison have some rights, included the right to have healthy care, food and drink properly, etc. It has been accommodated by Law No. 12, 1995 about Public Prison. It's important to know how about the implementation of the regulation and what are the factors that make it can't be implemented. The writer wants to know how about this regulation’s implementation especially for the right of the prisoners to get healthy care. The writer did the research in the LP Klas IIA Yogyakarta by taking samples of the prisoners. The writer took 11 prisoners for samples, 5 women and 6 men. They filled the blank of opened questioner and they have been interviewed. Besides that, the writer also interviewed some Public Prisoner's workers. The result of this research are the right of the prisoners to get healthy care in the LP Klas IIA Yogyakarta has been enough implemented or in other word Sanitation in the LP Klas IIA Yogyakarta is enough good according to the regulation and the factors of resistant of this regulation's implementation are about fund for the healthy care of the prisoners, and problem of autonomy. The public prisons cannot effort fund included fund for physically reparation of the prison and fund for the sanitation by themselves. They have to follow some policies from the institution above. The writer has a suggestion that the prisoners are human being like each of us, they need a good sanitation too, so the government and the Public Prison should pay attention for this problem and try to solve the problem about Public Prison's sanitation.
