Abstract

Artificial lighting system is one of the necessary factors in planning a museum to create three dimensional objects in shape, texture, color and size. This study used DIALux version 4.10 simulations to observe the effect of artificial lighting on visual perception of three-dimensional objects, in Affandi Museum Yogyakarta. Problems, may occur in terms of lamp type, color rendering index (CRI) and the direction of light, that can affect visual perception of three- dimensional object. In obtaining the data and information, the researcher conducted some stages of work that are direct observation in the location and recording with video, distributing questionnaires to the semantic differential method and test variables that have been determined by experimental methods using DIALux version 4.10 program to provide visual perception of the respondents. To assess the relationship between variables, using quantitative analysis in the form of statistical calculations and supported by qualitative analysis in the form of theor etical study. The results of simulation experiments proved that three variables in visual perceptions present a different impression of the exhibition of three dimensional object, in terms of texture, appearance or form, expression and color of the object sho. However, there are others things that the artists wish the audiences can catch special impression.
