Abstract

Advocate is a profession that provides legal services for the public or Clients who have legal problem. Actually, there are still a lot Advocates who are not cooperative in law enforcement for criminal acts of corruption that results in bad judgement by the public to an Advocate who defended the defendant of corruption. Is how many factors that affect an Advocate who was adjudged free by a court, even term “money talk” is defending will pay not attached to defend the true given by the public to an Advocate who defended the defendant of corruption. It is supported by a statement of Denny Indrayana who said that an Advocate who defended the corruptor is a corruptor itself which is paid form the proceeds of corruption. From the above background, it is in the writing of this essay presented two main issues, namely: How the legal arguments of Advocate in response to petition for legal defense against the defendant’s criminal act of corruption? And How do the professional Adcocates on providing defense against the defendant’s criminal act of corruption?. This research is normative, made by reviewing/analyzing secondary data in the form of legal materials, especially primary legal materials and secondary legal materials to understand the law as a set of rules or norms in the system of positive law governing the human life. Results of this study is defence Advocate against the defendant's criminal act of corruption should be in accordance with the law, the principle of presumption of innocence, and a high moral awake profesionaltas Advocate as law enforcement, and sprlngs trust public over the profession of an advocate.
