Abstract

At Indonesian, there are many illegal cosmetics that free circulated, especially at Batam city. Therefore, i’am writing a mini thesis with titled “The Position an Responsibility of Food and Drug Administration Departement (Balai POM) and Business Agents In Order to Realizing Concumer’s Protection Law (Case Study at Batam).” The purpose of this title are (1) to understanding and gaining data about the role of Balai POM. (2) to understanding and gaining data about the factors that being a background of business agents is not giving an indemnity. The research method that I used id empirical research method that means the research is conducted direcly based on the fact in field. From the research result that i’am gained, there can concluded that (1) the role of Balai POM at Batam city has not been optimal that proper with Act Number 8 Years 1999 about Consumer’s Protection. (2) the business agents must be responsible righteously as importer. So, that the business agents who sell a cosmetic that without permission from BPOM to distributing a goods that sold to concumers able to requested a responsibility.
