Abstract

Writing this law entitled Yogyakarta Police Efforts to Tackle Crime In Using Firearms. The research objective of this law is to obtain data about the efforts of Yogyakarta police in tackling crime using a firearm and to obtain data on what are the constraints faced by the Yogyakarta police in tackling crime using a firearm. Writing this law using normative legal research methods that focus on research conducted in the form of positive legal norms legislation in force. As a preventive efforts undertaken Yogyakarta police in tackling crime using a firearm, the authors suggested that the Police Special Region of Yogyakarta is also working with the police in other provinces, especially in Java because in general the criminals who will commit crimes using firearms usually move, for example when the robbery or motor vehicle theft in the province of East Java and Yogyakarta Province react again to confused the police. Police carried out the repressive efforts of Yogyakarta to solve crimes using firearms come on right this moment, but also the Special Police still have to pay attention to human rights. Related internal constraints faced by the Police Special District permit is not a recommendation by police when police use in the region, the authors suggested that the Police Headquarters Police must pay more attention to recommendations according to population in the ID card. Related to external constraints, the agency dualism can give permission ownership and use of firearms that the Chief of Police and the Secretary of Defense, the authors suggest the Police Headquarters should cooperate with the Ministry of Defence to prevent the misuse of firearms.
