Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the functionalization of law no.23, 2004 on nullification of violence in household as an administrative pernal code in Yogyakarta State Court. This Research used normative method. The result showed that the law court sentenced 6 (six) months imprisonment to the accused. Such a court sentence, although lower than the prosecution of the pubnlic prosecutor, was effective both as special prevention and general prevention. As special prevention it was effective for the offender in order not to repeat anymore such an offense and as general prevention it was effective to prevent the society in general from being influenced by the offender and not to act such an offense in their lives in the future
