Abstract

Tourism is a various of tourist activities and supported with facilities and services provided by community, businessman, Government, and Local Government. Yogyakarta city is a unique city and rich in culture as well as heavy Java tradition, making Yogyakarta city became one of the most attractive tourist destinations to be visited by tourists. Looking at many tourism objects attracted the tourists attention, Government of Yogyakarta City establish a special agency dealing with tourism promotion. The agency named Yogyakarta Tourism Promotion Agency (BP2KY). Yogyakarta Tourism Promotion Agency (BP2KY) is a tourism promotion agency established by Government of Yogyakarta City. BP2KY was established based on Regulation of Yogyakarta Mayor No.5, 2010 on the establishment of Yogyakarta Tourism Promotion Agency. BP2KY have a duty and function that is increasing the tourism image of Yogyakarta City as the Local Government Partners. The BP2KY goal is to promote development of tourism promotion, that is to develop an effective, efficient, and sustainable tourism promotion of Yogyakarta City. BP2KY in promotional activities have been doing their duties and functions in the development activities of tourism destination of Yogyakarta City. It can be seen from the increase number of tourists and local revenues in Yogyakarta City.
