Abstract

Credit Union, as a new micro financial institute in Indonesia, is still in the same status with financial cooperationin terms of law until this time. In this case, the research is done in one of Credit Union in Yogyakarta named CindelarasTumangkarCredit Union. The purpose of this research is to know the law position of CindelarasTumangkar properly. This reseach uses empirical law research method which focuses on law society behavior. Moreover, it was done directly to respondents as the primary data which are supported by secondary data (primary law and secondary law materials). The result of this research is Credit Union, especially CindelarasTumangkarCredit Union, is on the same line with the base and orientation of Indonesian cooperation, but on the different line with (koperasisimpanpinjam). Therefore, CindelarasTumangkarCredit Union is not correct if it is in the same status as (koperasisimpanpinjam). Moreover, it will cause CindelarasTumorangkar, as a Credit Union, not to get its law position and existency space.
