Abstract
The title of this essay is about The Role of Tana Toraja Local Government in overcoming Bulangan Londong (cockfight) Gambling on Funeral Ceremony in Tana Toraja. The legal issue is about the role of government, especially Tana Toraja local government in overcoming bulangan londong (cockfight) gambling on funeral ceremony in Tana Toraja. This essay using normative legal research focusing on positive norms relating to gambling. Bulangan londong gambling conducted not related to the funeral ceremony give negative impact for the society in Tana Toraja. Bulangan londong still there in Tana Toraja because Toraja traditional culture is still strong and also public mistakenly thought about gambling. Cockfighting in Toraja is a criminal offense because people also do gambling at the same time. Nowadays, the role of Tana Toraja local government is not yet effective because they have not made Local Regulation (PERDA) related to bulangan londong so the cockfighting gambling still often held until now.
