Abstract

Gambling is a problem of society, gambling continues to evolve with the times. In the Province of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta gambling is mostly done is a gambling over the internet, this is what makes the writer feel compelled to write a thesis entitled efforts of the regional police of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta in overcome the crime of gambling over the internet, the problem is what the effort were made regional police of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta in overcome the crime of gambling over the internet and what obstacles encountered in doing effort overcome the crime of gambling over the internet. The method research used is research methodology of empirical legal consisted of primary data derived from interviews with informant and respondent, well as secondary data consisting of primary legal materials and secondary legal materials as obtained through fields studies and literature, then analyzed and compared to interesting a conclusion. The research results indicated that gambling over the internet is a criminal offense,that prevention efforts should be made to avoid the more happening in the community because it can cause loss to the perpetrators and for society . Effort of regional police of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta to combat the crime of gambling over the internet by making efforts preemtive, preventive, represive and constrains include external constrains and internal constrains. When doing overcome effort the crime of gambling over the internet should forward preventive measures to prevent loss and provide guidance to improve human resources and the ability of police officers.
