Abstract
Thesis is a form of scientific work made by a law student degree. There is a lot of infringement cases happened in scientific writing, it is called plagiarism. Basically plagiarism is actually preventable, for instance, by the existence of supervisor lecturer role, wherein the thesis arranging process is supervised by at least one supervisor lecturer in such a way that in the arranging process the students can be more guided to write free plagiarism thesis. The data how the role of thesis supervisior about preventing plagiarism in the thesis of students, author conducted a study in Law Faculty Atma Jaya University Yogyakarta. The study was conducted by proposing questioners to the respondents they are more than 30% of total active students that are currently taking law/thesis writing subject. An interview was conducted to eleven lecturers that are also thesis supervisor lecturers. The study resulted in a conclusion that there is an awareness of the lecturers that their role as supervisor lecturers is important to make free plagiarism thesis. However, in practice, the supervisor lecturer role haven‟t been done maximally in guiding the students to make free plagiarism thesis.
