Abstract

In this modern era, society neccesity is incrase. The society as road users often break the rule of safety transport. One of the examples which is often happen is traffic violation. Traffic lights is one of the important components which should be obeyed. In the order to regulate traffic violation which is often happen in Indonesia, the government provides law enforcer which is called the police in accordance with the duties and function is based on regulation about the Republic of Indonesia Police. The Police in practicing their duties is also based on the rule of law nomor 2 tahun 2002 about traffic and road transport. The situation which people break the traffic rules also happen in Yogyakarta area. Safety riding is often be ignores by road user in Yogyakarta, as a consequence of breaking the rule number of traffic accidents are incrasefrom year to year. This thing has pushed the writer for doing research and law thesis titled "the police effort in overcoming traffic violation which is done by juvenile in Yogyakarta area". The question which will be researched is how does the police effort in overcoming trafic violation in Yogyakarta and the obstacle in overcoming traffic violation in Yogyakarta. The result which is done is there are some efforts in overcoming traffic violation by the Yogyakarta police namely traffic light police has to organize socialization and conseling wheter it's directly or indirectly about the rule of law undang-undang no. 22 tahun 2009 about traffic and road transport to juvenile at the schools and also the students who have motorbikes must be given a snction if the are found breaking the traffic lights rule therefore the students will not repeat the mistake. The writer found the obstacles namely the juvenile knowledge of law is very less cooperation between the police and another government institution is also the thing should be solved.
