Abstract

Darfur armed conflict, began in February 2003. In 1983, the South led by the movement of the People's Liberation Sudan or (SPLM) Sudan People's Liberation Movement, and has been armed, Liberation Army of South Sudan (SPLA) Sudan People's Liberation Army, joined the uprising when the Sudanese government cancel the agreement autonomy arrangements. At least 1.5 million people have lost their homes and more than 4 million people have been displaced for 22 years due to guerrilla warfare. In this legal writing, the researcher tries to examine and analyze the issue of how the role of UNAMID in resolving the armed conflict between rebel groups in Darfur by the Sudanese government. The data used is the primary legal materials consisting of Charter of the United Nations, Charter of The Organization of African Unity, Constitutive act of the African Union, United Nations Security Council 1769. as well as secondary data which consists of books, journals, articles, theses, and internet-related research topics. United Nations / African Union Hybrid Operation Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), was formed on July 31, 2007, and acting under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations decided by the UN Security Council resolution number 1769. Based on the results of research and analysis, the researcher concluded that the formation of a specialized agency of UN and African Union that UNAMID United Nations Mission In Darfur has been going according to the mandate given even though there are many obstacles both for external and internal factors.
