Abstract

The title of this legal thesis is: "The Concept of an Archipelagic State under the law of the sea (UNCLOS 1982) in the settlement of Niger Gesong dispute between Indonesia and Malaysia The issue of Niger Gesong is one of Indonesia and Malaysia problems in the absence of clear maritime boundaries and Niger Gesong Which nowadays, Indonesia as a State of the Niger Islands gesong enter the territory of Indonesia but Malaysia through the New Map in 1979 enter the territory niger Gesong as his own unilaterally, both countries have actually agreed on the continental shelf but not with the maritime boundary The formulation of the problem in the writing of this law is “To know the concept of an archipelagic state in UNCLOS 1982”. This scientific writing uses the Normative Legal method which means data collection including secondary data from legal documents, books and other data that also provide the necessary information for the writing / writing of this law.the two countries today, Especially Indo Nesia tightens surveillance at Niger Gesong, as Malaysia in terms of Tourism has declared Niger Gesong as his Diving tour of the country. Diplomatic Note has been in progress and is expected to be done immediately for the settlement of Niger Gesong.
