Abstract
Implementation of International Humanitarian Law on the Protection of Civil Objects During Armed Conflicts in Indonesia's Defense System. International Humanitarian Law regulates the protection of civilian objects, not only humans but also non-human components. The general objective is to know how the Implementation of International Humanitarian Law on the Protection of Civil Objects During Armed Conflicts in Indonesia's Defense System. In the 1949 Geneva Conventions, the protection of civilian objects in the form of permanent buildings and health unions should be protected during the war. Indonesia participates in the 1949 Geneva Conventions. One of the implementation of International Humanitarian Law in Indonesia is Law of Republic of Indonesian Number 3 Year 2002 About State Defense, the law is formed based on international law principle. The type of legal research used in this study is normative legal research. The way of data collection is done in two ways, literature study and interview to ICRC. In normative legal research data is secondary data, consist of primary law material and secondary law material. The process of thinking used is deductive, ie starting from a general proposition whose truth is known and ending in a specific conclusion. Indonesia is already implementing international humanitarian law. But it can still be said to be less effective because there are still many that have not been implemented one of the making of regulations related to sanctions for perpetrators of violation of convention. Suggestions to Indonesia are to immediately think of a plan to make regulations related to effective sanctions, to socialize to the general public on international humanitarian law and also to pay attention to the use of symbols on civilian objects that require marking.
