Abstract

This paper considers an Economic Lot Scheduling Problem (ELSP) with two imperfect Key Modules (KMs), in which extending similar work on the Economic Production quantity scope. It is assumed that each KM has its own probability to shift from incontrol state to out-of-control state. When the production hifts to out-of-control state, it starts to produce defected items. The problem in this paper is defined as finding the cycle times for several items under ELSP with two KMs context in order to minimize the total cost covering holding cost, setup cost and quality-related cost. A series of modelling was done in order to develop the formula and algorithms to solve the cycle time T under the Independent Solution (IS) and Common Cycle (CC) approach. A numerical illustration is given based on the modified Bomberger (1966) stamping problem.
