Abstract
Consumer finance has become one of the alternatives in funding needs in society. Principally, consumer finance is regulated in a consumer financing agreement. In its implementation, the disputes often occur. The Consumer Dispute Settlement Body (BPSK) as one of the institutions outside the court has the competence to handle consumer disputes. However, the Supreme Court annulled BPSK authority in the consumer financing dispute settlement. This paper entitled "Juridical Review of the Competencies of the Consumer Dispute Settlement Body (BPSK) in Consumer Disputes Regarding the Implementation of Financing Agreement at the Consumer Financing Institution (Consumer Finance)". This paper analysis, how is the competence of the BPSK in consumer disputes related to the implementation of financing agreements at consumer financing institutions after the establishment of the Alternative Dispute Settlement Institution (LAPS) established by the Financial Services Authority (LAPS-OJK). This study uses normative legal research, by examining secondary data and library materials. This paper concludes that BPSK has competence in handling and resolving consumer dispute related to the implementation of financing agreements in the financial sector, where its competence cannot be separated from the application of UUPK. Second, the establishment of LAPS by the OJK does not necessarily negate the BPSK authority in consumer disputes related to the implementation of financing agreements at consumer financing institutions, in which the status of consumers regulated in the UUPK and OJK Laws is different.
