Abstract
The background of the problem of this research is that the circulation of counterfeit motor vechicle parts on the market is alarming and the consumers are disadvantaged, so the role of the consumer protection supervision section, especially in Pontianak City is highly needed. The formulation problem of this research was how is the role of the consumer protection and commercial control section of the trade and industry departement in the province of West Kalimantan in providing consumer protection to the trade of motor vehicle parts in Pontianak city. The purpose of this research was to determinate whether the role of the consumer protection supervision section and the trade service in the province of West Kalimantan had been running properly in supervising the import of goods especially motor vehicle parts entering to the Pontianak City to provide protection for consumers so as not to be fooled on counterfeit motor vehicle parts products. The research method is to use empirical legal research that is research is foccused on social facts. The results of this research are the role of the supervision section of the consumer protection departement of industry and trade in the province West Kalimantan in the circulation of counterfeit motor vehicle parts in the city of Pontianak both in the from of direct and indirect supervision not yet efffective because fake and illegal products is still found and the level of publics awareness is still low on rights are regulated in consumer protection laws.
