Abstract

UNHCR is United Nations specialized organs who formed the purpose of protecting and guaranteeing human right and international efforts to humanise refugees as result of a war or a prolonged armed conflict, internal strife, and other domestic issues. The Legal Problem of this research was implementation of the UNHCR role in handling of international refugge issues from Rohingya. The problem of the research was studied by normative legal research, the data were collected by legal regulations of international convention 1951 status refugee, protocol 1961 and rome statue 1998, from expert opinion, and some research related to Rohingya refuge, were analized by qualitative method of normative analysis using library materials as a source of research data. From the data analysis it could be concluded that, UNHCR giving international protection for Rohingya refugee, shelter in other country, try to seek them resettlement or seek asylum in third country who willingly accept them and give them a basic training so they can use it.UNHCR cant perform repatriation yet, because rohingya refugee who has lived in Myanmar teritory for past generations is not admitted as citizens by the government of Myanmar.
