Abstract

The Syrian civil war occurred since 2011 made more residents leave their country to seek protection. The Syrian refugees choose countries in the European Union such as Austria, Germany, Sweden as their main destinations because the country is open for refugees. In 2015 there was a surge in refugees coming to the European Union so that countries in the European Union began to tighten their borders and refuse refugees from entering their countries. Austria which was originally a country open to refugees had to tighten its borders and made regulations which made it more difficult for refugees to enter Austria. In the end, considering refugees became the main topic in every general election and gave rise to a number of political parties that were pro�refugee and anti-refugee. In 2017 the conservative party promoted by Chancellor Sebastian Kurz won an agreed vote in Austria and delivered him as the youngest Chancellor in Austrian history. The party promoted by Chancellor Sebastian Kurz formed a coalition with the Austrian right-wing party so that during the reign of Chancellor Sebastian Kurz regulations could be made which made applying for asyl in Austria becomes more difficult which number was increasing significant.
