Abstract
The Problem of this research was the violation of nuclear weapons testing conducted by North Korea against international aggreement. This research is a normative legal research supported by primary and secondary data. Primary data is obtained from international agreements, while secondary data were obtained from books, legal literature, scientific papers from legal circles, legal journals, papers and articles. Primary and secondary data were analyzed qualitatively, namely analysis by identifying legal rules, legal developments, and social facts. After that, primary and secondary data can be concluded using deductive thinking methods. Based on the data analized,, it could be concluded that the effectiveness of the United Nations Security Council sanctions on violations of nuclear weapons trials by North Korea, the sanctions given are still ineffective against North Korea. The ineffectiveness of the sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council is evident in the repeated abuses committed by North Korea. The ineffectiveness of the sanctions given because of the lack of strict punishment if North Korea violates the resolution and there are still countries that help North Korea.
