Abstract

The objective of police establishment is manifesting the domestic safety included maintaining the safety and the orderliness of society, the orderliness and the enforcement of law, the accomplishment of safety, the protection and the service for public, as well as the realization of society tranquility by highly regarding human rights (Chapter 4 UU No.2 in 2002). In Undang - Undang No. 22 in 2009 concerning traffic and transportation, section 7 subsection (2) letter e states that to accomplish all government importance like registration, identification of motor vehicle and driver, enforcement of law, operational management, and traffic engineering and education are done by state police of Republic of Indonesia. Problem formulation of this research is 1) What attempts traffic police should do to overcome traffic violation which is done by the driver of motor vehicle in Yogyakarta city, and 2) What kind of barrier is which traffic police experiences in overcoming traffic violation which is done by the driver of motor vehicle in Yogyakarta city. The research of this law writing is a part of normative law research that is a research which assesses valid law norms. The research of normative law is done by researching library material which is secondary data as primary data. The conclusion of this law essay writing for the accomplishment of traffic police attempt is socializing Undang – Undang No. 22 in 2009 concerning traffic and transportation, promoting the advertisement of public service for public importance, advising the doer of traffic violation in order to not redo it again instead of directly giving forfeit. The second conclusion of this law essay writing for traffic police ’s barriers in overcoming traffic violation which is done by the driver of motor vehicl e is the low of society awareness on law, the limitation of the number of police personnel to overcome the violation, as well as the limitation of facility and infrastructure.
