Abstract

Transportation is a reciprocal agreement which means that the carrier binds or approaches to carry out the activities of transporting goods (cargo) and/or people to a certain destination, while the other party, the sender and the passenger are obliged to pay the transportation costs. However, in recent months the world is facing a crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the end, previously prospective passengers already had plane tickets to depart in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, they were forced to experience flight cancellations. As a form of responsibility given to passengers who experience flight cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, airline companies must provide compensation to passengers. Compensation itself is defined as a substitute for a loss that can be in the form of money or not money. This is a form of legal protection for flight cancellations provided by domestic aviation law.
