Abstract
Refugees have fled their country because of a well-founded fear of persecution due to race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. In accepting refugees, it is known that there is a principle of non-discrimination where every country is obliged to respect and prevent acts of discrimination. This research aims to find violations of the NonDiscrimination Principle by European Union States members when they treat international refugees. This research focuses on treating refugees from the Middle East and Ukraine. This study uses normative legal analysis that focuses on legal norms. The results of this study indicate that there are different treatments in accepting refugees in European Union countries based on selective solidarity and political will, which lead to violations of the principle of non-discrimination.
