Abstract

This study aims to determine the legal protection and responsibility of business actors against unclear information on refillable perfume packaging without composition labels. This study uses a type of empirical normative research conducted in Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Region, namely the Consumers of the Refill Perfume Business. The data collection technique used is an interview technique, namely question and answer based on prepared questions and a questionnaire technique, namely sending a list of questions to 10 consumers in every 3 refill perfume shops (Selokan Wangi Parfume, Maestro Parfume, and Lab Aromatique). The data processing technique was carried out using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. From the results of the study, there were omissions made by refill perfume business actors in Sleman Regency by not including the composition label on refill perfume packaging. Regarding legal protection for consumers who experience losses, it has been regulated in the Consumer Protection Law, namely preventive legal protection and repressive legal protection. The responsibilities of business actors as regulated in the UUPK can be carried out by giving fines, imprisonment, or administrative sanctions.
