Abstract

Landak river border zone in Ngabang City in the context of building construction that is not in accordance with local regulations. The aim is to analyze the use of riparian zones based on Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2015 concerning Landak District Spatial Plans for 2014-2034 and to evaluate the government's efforts to curb illegal buildings. The research method used is qualitative with an empirical legal approach. Primary data was obtained from interviews with informants and also 37 respondents using a questionnaire that utilized buildings in the Landak river border zone. While secondary data is used as a support. Data analysis was carried out by collecting, organizing, and analyzing qualitative data obtained from informants and respondents. the research show that there are still many buildings such as houses, shophouses, places of business, and houses of worship which were built illegally in the river border zone. The use of riparian zones that are not in accordance with these regional regulations causes environmental problems such as accumulation of garbage and flooding when the river overflows. The government has made several efforts to control it, including disseminating regulations and applying strict licensing provisions. However, there are still obstacles such as low public awareness and limited supporting aspects in controlling.
