Abstract

Ciwulan River, a once-beautiful waterway located in Tasikmalaya city, has fallen victim to pollution primarily caused by irresponsible waste disposal by the local community. Over the years, the picturesque riverbanks have turned into dumping grounds as people continue to discard their waste haphazardly. This careless practice has led to a severe degradation of water quality and ecological imbalance. The purpose of this study was to find out the efforts of monitoring the perpetrators of water pollution in the Ciwulan River, and to find out the constraints and solutions of the Tasikmalaya City Enviromental Service in monitoring the perpetrators of water pollution in the Ciwulan River. The Tasikmalaya City Enviromental Service has demonstrated commendable diligence in its monitoring and oversight responsibilities. The Tasikmalaya City Enviromental Service has consistently maintained a strong presence in safeguarding the city's environment. Through regular inspections and stringent enforcement of environmental regulations, they have played a crucial role in ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for the community.
