Abstract

Legal analysis of the song “Ojo Dibandingke” by Abah Lala sung by Farel Prayoga at the time of Indonesia Independence day on August 17, 2021 accompanied by changes in song lyrics based on Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright. There is one problem in this research is does the activity of changing the lyrics of the “Ojo Dibandingke”song performed by Farel Prayoga on the Independence of Indonesia qualify as copyright infringement? This Law research aims to find out the song that sung with the lyrics changed. However, what makes a song unique and special is how it is crafted, arranged, and performed by the artist, as well as the personal experiences and emotions the bring to it. This type of research in legal research is normative legal research that focuses on the analysis and evaluation of legal norms and rules based on certain standards of values and morality. The conclusion of this legal research is the activity of singing a song “Ojo Dibandingke” performed by Farel Prayoga is not an infringement of copyright. Rather an expression of admiration expressed from Farel Prayoga’s heart to the Mr. Joko Widodo President of Indonesia. Song creates powerful connection between people.
