Abstract

ABSTRACT Pet boarding services are services carried out based on agreements for pet boarding. In the practice of pet boarding services, service providers often experience breach of contract committed by pet owners, such as picking up the pet at a time that does not comply with the agreement and failure to settle the payment for the pet boarding services. Based on this phenomenon, the author seeks to determine the legal resolution for parties when the implementation of the pet boarding agreement is not carried out as agreed. The research method used in this study is empirical legal research method. The results obtained from this research are that the legal resolution for parties when the implementation of the pet boarding agreement is not carried out as agreed is through dispute settlement process by means of negotiation and unilateral transfer of ownership rights of the pet. Dispute settlement through negotiation aims to reach an agreement between the parties on whether the pet that has transferred ownership rights to the pet boarding service provider can be reclaimed by its owner. The author's suggestion is for pet owners to pick up their pets at the agreed time to avoid causing losses to the pet boarding service provider.
