Abstract

Human trafficking is defined as a criminal act carried out in an organized manner, carried out in groups or involving several people who are networked with each other and aims to exploit people for the unilateral gain of the perpetrator of the practice of trafficking in persons. Perpetrators of the crime of human trafficking in online scamming recruit workers by utilizing technological developments including social media, where the perpetrators will offer and promise jobs abroad via the internet/social media or directly with the promise of getting a job. This research is to determine efforts to eradicate criminal acts of human trafficking through online scamming according to national and international law and to determine the implementation of eradicating criminal acts of human trafficking through online scamming in Indonesia. The type of research that will be used is normative legal research. The data source uses primary legal materials consisting of Law Number 21 of 2007, the Palermo Protocol and other legal regulations relating to criminal acts of human trafficking. The results of this research are that even though national and international regulations have been made, there are still criminal acts of human trafficking. The biggest factor is that there are still many people who don't know that fraudsters use social media to deceive their victims online with unreasonable promises so that they will be trafficked abroad and there is often a variation in the consistency of law enforcement officials in prosecuting perpetrators of trafficking crimes person.
