Abstract

Motor vehicle are one of the biggest sources of air pollution in DKI Jakarta. The number of motor vehicle in DKI Jakarta always increase every year, this is due to government policies that make it easier for people to obtain private vehicles. Motor vehicle produce emissions containing air pollutants such as carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), hydrocarbons (HC), sulfur dioxide (SO.) tetraethyl lead. Seeing the worsening condition of air pollution in DKI Jakarta, the government implemented mandatory emission testing efforts for individual motor vehicle. This study aims to analyze how the implementation of emission tests in DKI Jakarta and analyze whether there are obstacles in the implementation of emission tests. The benefit of this research is to provide an overview and information related to the implementation of emission tests conducted in DKI Jakarta. The result of this study is that the implementation of emission tests in DKI Jakarta has been running in accordance with existing regulations, but it cannot be said to be running optimally because there are still obstacles in its application, there are irregularities in its implementation, the role of the community that is less involved in emission tests, limited human resources.
